Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wonderful machine! I'm a paper artist and so this review will be about paper. The machine cuts paper beautifully. The trick is to understand the weight of the paper your cutting. I follow the guidelines that are in the manual and so far it's cut everything I've put through it. The wireless set up was easy and I love that I can the software called canvas from my iPad and iPhone. It is larger than its competitors but that's because of the scanning, the machine needs more room for the mat to go in and out, however it's light weight. The machine is loud so keep that in mind when you're trying to use it. Overall, I am glad I purchased it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my purpose I am very happy with my ScanNCut 2. The ability to scan images makes it a stand-alone designing and cutting machine as well as using it with the Canvas internet program. I use my machine for an entirely different reason than crafting and quilting. I scan stained glass patterns into the SNC2. Then place a heavy sticky back paper on the mat, load it, and let SNC2 do the cutting out work for me. There is a bit more learning curve to get the results I want than I expected but I'm getting there and as I get comfortable with the sequence it's a great timesaver for me in my stained glass work.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs improvements I use both the Cricut and and Scan n Cut. Love the way the scan n cut - cuts but I go back to the cricut for most jobs. I HATE that I cannot access my fonts on my computer! This should not be hard to fix! Come programers get busy! The text converter is an extra time consuming step! It doesn't even work for the fonts its says it can! I have even tested them on other programs such as MS word, PS and cricut and they display perfectly! I guess if your using this for quilting only its not an issue but It's a major issue for people doing design work and needing creative fonts! I want to open and create! I don't want to use to different programs to get the job done!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No the Machine for ME I ordered my machine and had it for less than a month. I tried several times to try to figure out the machine, and even call Brother to get some guidance on how to use the machine. I was told that I had to purchase the card to use the designs in which I think is very extreme considering the price of the machine already that should have been with it. I youtube to get information on how to use it and still felt that it was very difficult to figure out for ME. It does give enough fonts, once I save things to my flash drive I still could not pull them up on the machine when I inserted the drive. After many hours of trying to figure it out I got frustrated and sent the machine back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nancy I do love the ScanNCut! I have the 1st Edition in KY and the 2nd Edition at our Winter home in Florida. There are so many useful features but I wish it had more built in designs. The other thing is if I don't use it often, I forget how to find the edit buttons. It's always been a guessing game and wish that part was more user friendly. The icons on the machine aren't very clear as to what they actually do. A built in tutorial would be helpful. I take every ScanNCut class I can but until you use it regularly, I find it frustrating. I wouldn't have any machine though. All in all, I think the quality and versatility of the machine makes it a winner!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Potential Workhorse This review concerns my general interactions with the machine and cutting paper and card; I do not work with foam. The major thing to realize is that operation of the ScanNCut2 requires a lot of flat wok space. Your going to need enough room at the rear and front to feed/receive the image/cutting materials. When not in use the machine is light enough to easily move aside. Also, be sure and buy some extra blades and holders right from the start.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my Brother Scan N Cut! I do love my Scan N Cut but it is the only vinyl cutter I have ever used. My learning curve is steep so I cannot say that I am proficient and I find it hard to figure out how to do certain things but that may be me. Editing designs I purchase is my biggest challenge. I know that I can ungroup on my canvass but once it is in the machine, I don't know how to do that so when I have 2 or more colors, I have to cut the entire design multiple times, etc. I bet there is an easier way to do that but I haven't figured it out yet. Therefore, I love the machine but may not be the most reliable expert because I have so much to learn.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Purchase I make greeting cards so I use the Scan N Cut 2 to cut out stamped images. I was buying the die cuts for the stamps but that was getting very expensive so I figured with this machine, in the long run, it will be much cheaper to cut out my stamped images and not have to buy the dies. I love the machine!!
