I am new to scrapbooking, and I am confused on the DCWV Vellum quote stacks - how do you use them? When I bout them i thought they rubbed on but apparently not. Anyone know?

You can use some sort of embellishment to attach the quie to your page.. like brads, eyelets, fiber,. that sort of stuff.. or you can use vellum adhesive spray. and spray some on the back of it, jsut a light coating, give it a sec to get tacky the place it where you want it. and usually you don't see the "spray", as long as it wasn't completely soaked in adhesive..
or you can do both... embellishments and some sort of adhesive to attach it to you page.

No, they aren't rub-ons. I have have never used them but you would use them the same as other vellum items. That is, attach the vellum quotes to your layout so the adhesive doesn't show (not easy!). You can use brads or you can put embellies on top of the adhesive to hide it.
I used vellum in this example below as an overlay on top of the patterned paper and underneath the photo of the conch shells. I wrote my title on the vellum. To hide the adhesive on the vellum, I put flowers in strategic places. That is, everywhere you see flowers on this layout, there is adhesive underneath!

By IzzyBI also used vellum here. Look at the circle in the upper R side of the photo that says: "Lucky Me Blessed with You." That saying is written on vellum. The adhesive is hidden by the cardstock circle on top.

I bought about 5 packs of vellum quotes and I regret each one of them! It is a pain in the butt to cut them out if they aren't perforated and they usually don't give you enough room to attach these. Eyelets, sewing, ribbon, brads, buttons, flowers, stickers, etc are all ways that you can attach them if you can find a way to do it that looks good...lol! I will never buy non-sticky vellum quotes again!!!

Run them through the xyron X if you have one.

I love vellum quote stacks!!! I usually attach with a small dab of glue or a glue dot, then use an embellie over it to "hide" the glue....
here's an example,,,the shell hides the glue,,,

I love the Xyron idea! I've only used vellum quotes once and ended up with little dots that were visible on the front ugh! I'll try the Xyron next time!

In the layout below I ran the piece of ribbon through the Xyron, stuck it down, then ran the vellum through the Xyron and added it on top. No need to hide the glue - it hides itself!

like other posters have said, I usually use brads, or in the lo I used buttons around the edge and did some overlapping. I've used flowers in the corners as well.

I found adhesive that is specifically for vellum. The first one was on a roll that you used like double stick tape, then I found a tape runner with vellum tape - they both work like a charm - but they can be expensive so I make sure I only use them for vellum and don't mistake the runner for my regular adhesive.

I see you already have a ton of great ideas! I'll just add (or repeat) that I've attached mine to LO's with brads (and now eyelets). I've added them to large tags (on the backs of which I journal).
You could also cut the vellum quotes apart to make your own message... sort of like a vellum ransom note.
I think I saw someone else suggest stitching them onto your LO.

Well that's a bummer! I love mine to the point that I have to remeber to NOT put one on every single LO.

And finally (then I swear I'm done), one time I did have an issue with adhesive peeking through and it looked rather tacky. Thankfully, the design of the quote overall allowed me to cover the unsightly big with stickles. It turned out pretty cute.
